Don't Be a Square: How to Make (Square Shaped) V-Day Lollipops
I feel the need to preface this post by saying that I fabricated these lollipops and then long ago I literally forgot well-nigh them (photographed them the aforementioned day as these strawberry block ball truffles). Until yesterday. And then I was like, 'Oh yeah – I should probably share those.' And they but and so happen to fit in perfectly with V-Twenty-four hours content. And then….. here they are!
Brand these super piece of cake lollipops with just 1 ingredient. Yeah, 1! Bonus…They're square, which makes them a teeny tiny bit more special than regular lollipops.
Ingredients:
- 1 handbag of Jolly Ranchers (any flavors you like that are red or pink)
Materials:
- silicone foursquare ice cube mold
- lollipop sticks
- plastic ziplock bag
- mallet
- cookie sheet
Instructions:
Preheat oven to 275 degrees.
Then unwrap Jolly Ranchers and place them all in a plastic bag. Close up the handbag, while pushing out any extra air from the purse.
Then hit the candy with a mallet or hammer until it breaks up into pocket-sized(ish) pieces – similar in size to what you encounter in the photos.
Open the bag back upwards and pour the Jolly Rancher pieces into the ice cube mold. Fill them all the way to the superlative because they will shrink down to half the size afterward melting in the oven.
Next, place the filled silicone mold onto a cookie canvass and popular it in the oven for 8-12 minutes. Once the candy take melted into a liquid they are ready to be taken out of the oven. Which could happen earlier or afterwards the timeframe I gave, and so be sure to continually check on it…the timing depends on how much candy is added to the molds, what rack in the oven you identify the mold on, etc.
Earlier the candy cools, add lollipop sticks to the center of each square mold. Then allow the candy harden again before removing from the molds. Once hardened, they are ready to swallow.
