Homedepot.ca refuses all payment methods
Does anyone else get this error when they try to buy something at homedepot.ca?
Please verify that your credit card details, name on card and/or billing address are correct. If you are still unable to complete your order, contact your financial institution or provide an alternate form of payment.
I tried MasterCard, VISA, American Express, and PayPal and I always get this error regardless of whether I'm logged in or not.
Home Depot customer support tells me to check with my bank, but how is it possible that all banks have the same issue?
I have no problems with any other online store using credit cards or PayPal.
Any ideas why this is happening?

Maybe a browser problem? Did you try a different browser?

Use Internet Explorer for the transaction. Many sites aren't friendly with Firefox or Google browsers.

I had a bunch of trouble recently trying to put in an order for in store pickup, I think I ended up having to turn off uBlock Origin to get it to go through.

Turn off your popup blocker and/or use an Incognito browser if you're in Chrome. I've noticed their website is a tire fire lately when I've used Chrome with AdBlocker and other extensions turned on.

You could have just stopped here.
Do you not have anything else to do rather than argue with strangers on the internet
Nope. That's why I'm on the internet arguing with strangers. If I had anything better to do I'd probably be doing it.

I had to email their customer support several times to get the issue fixed on my account.
They went as far as telling me to contact my bank because my address was probably wrong... so I called my bank to get my exact address as stored in their system and it still failed on Home Depot. I think my last-ditch frustration-filled email got them to dig deeper and find the issue.
Good luck!

do you live in an apartment with a unit or apt number? they can potentially cause some negative feedback on address verification that cause issues

Somehow this tire fire actually got worse.

Make sure your billing address is the same as your credit card's
Make sure you have ad block off
Either that or homedepot.ca does not wish to have you as a customer

Meanwhile, I'm in France right now and want to order a bunch of stuff for me to do while quarantined.
They completely block site accesses here.
I just get
Access Denied
You don't have permission to access
"http://homedepot.ca/" on this server.

I guess they won't get my business.

I've had same issue all summer I tried to put though a $1800. order and received the same response as you "please check card information etc." Then after trying a few times I called MasterCard to make sure multiple charges didn't go through and they said that homedepot.ca puts a $50. Charge through first to see if your card is good ,, didn't make sense to me but I was so frustrated with home depot.ca after trying all summer I just gave up ,, unfortunately what I wanted could be only purchased online not in store,,

anyone else get this issue fixed?
This is so frustrating. I have ordered in the past with no issues, seems to be an issue in the last few months for me. I have tried 3 credit cards and paypal and multiple browsers all with no luck.
chat and calling in both just give me the run around to contact financial institution.

I got my issue fixed by sending the following email to [email protected] (some details have been changed for privacy)
I have spent a lot of time on your website, texting customer service, and phoning customer service just to order one item from your website and I still can't successfully order it.
I have two things I need resolved:
1. I want to order SKU ####### to deliver either to my home or to the closest store.
2. I want to be able to successfully order online in the future. When I try to order online every one of my credit cards gets rejected. I tried American Express, XXX MasterCard, XXX MasterCard, XXX VISA and even PayPal and they all get rejected with the message:
"Please verify that your credit card details, name on card and/or billing address are correct. If you are still unable to complete your order, contact your financial institution or provide an alternate form of payment."
I spent a long time on text messaging with customer service and he documented my issues in ticket number XXXXX and suggested I call customer service on the phone.
On the phone the customer service representative tried placing the order for me and got the same credit card error. She also kept asking if I moved recently or if I ever lived at XXXX; that address she mentioned is the address of the Home Depot in my town.
I have lived at XXX for over 10 years, and all of my credit card bills are mailed to me at that address.
I called XXX Bank to verify my address and phone number on their system and confirmed it is exactly as I entered it online, plus they see several successful $1 transaction from Home Depot that coincide with me trying to order. He said that nothing was rejected on their end, and also he said the $1 transactions have not been credited back. It is highly unlikely that XXX Bank, XXX Credit Union, American Express, and PayPal are any different so I'm not going to waste my time calling them. Note that these cards work on every other online store I use, plus I have never seen PayPal rejected except on your site.
This isn't the first time I have gotten this error on homedepot.ca; the issue started for me in August 2017 and I could not get it resolved by contacting customer service. I still have the email from August 2017 with the subject "Contact Us – Customer Callback".
From that date onwards I have not been able to order anything online from homedepot.ca, so I simply bought stuff from a competitor (ie Lowes, Amazon, etc), went into the store to buy it, or didn't get it at all. The product I want is only available online so I have no choice but to order online or over the phone.
Please call me to help me place this order, and also please investigate why my credit cards keep getting rejected by Home Depot online and on the phone
The response back in around 48 hours was:
Thank you for contacting Home Depot Canada..
We identified a minor technical issue that prevented the order from getting placed, I have now resolved the issue.
Please try again to place your order, you should have no issues going forward.
Sorry for the inconvenience.
Thanks,

I was suggested by one chat agent to email [email protected] which i have now emailed and awaiting a response.
I also had another chat rep "escalate" the issue on their end for me and was advised a follow up of 2-5 business days... will wait and see.
Did you encounter the error only on the one item? or was it for any items on homedepot?

I had the error on every single thing I tried to order online.
